Free gas information sessions for Queensland’s 6,400 gasfitters
Queensland’s licensed gasfitters are invited to attend a free information session on upcoming changes to laws and Australian Standards that enhance worker and public safety.
John Wright, Regional Petroleum and Gas Inspector said gas is an hazardous substance and the safety of workers and the public is paramount.
“Whether it’s installing gas appliances in homes, caravans, hospitals, cafes or hotels, Queensland gasfitters need to have the latest information on how to be safe and compliant to the Australian Standard and legislation,” Regional Petroleum and Gas Inspector John Wright said.
“These information sessions have been specifically designed for our 6,400 licensed gasfitters to provide them with the most up to date safety regulations and industry trends.
“Not only being on top of the safety regulations, Australian standards and industry trends creates a more safer work environment – it makes smart business sense.
“Working in the industry we all know the safer the work environment means less down time which equates to a more efficient and profitable business.
John Wright said information sessions will held across Queensland providing a great opportunity for gasfitters to chat with local P&G inspectors and licensing staff to build knowledge on their trade.
“I would like to take this opportunity to put the call out to gasfitters to take advantage of these free sessions,” he said
“Seats are filling fast, so if you’re interested in attending be sure to register now,” Mr Wright said.
